The NAU Green Fund promotes student participation in and provides funding for projects that reduce NAU’s negative impact on the environment and create a culture of sustainability on-campus.

The Paper Product Waste Mitigation Project seeks to change overall consumption habits of paper towel users at Northern Arizona University. The project will provide this change by implementing sustainability awareness stickers within the restrooms of over 50 state funded buildings on campus. Specifically, the stickers are manufactured by the group “thesecomefromtrees”. The group, founded by Peter Kazanjy, started as an experiment in environmental activism, viral marketing, and user interface design. For over a decade, hundreds of institutions, organizations, restaurants, hotels, public facilities, and other businesses have successfully implemented these stickers.
