The idea of a sustainability network was a thought that had been on the minds of many students like us, yet none had been implemented. We decided to make our attempt a year ago as a CSSI initiative. After the Tri-University Sustainability Summit in February 2019, we came to understand how necessary a tool like Constellation would be: we could provide resources for students that lacked staff support within their institutions, introduce ongoing projects to first year students, and create discussions that would last beyond graduation dates. After pitching our idea to the Changemaker Community Action Grant Team, we received the Sustainability Challenge Grant in May 2019. Since then, the Constellation team has been working hard to bring this idea to life.

We are proud to announce that Constellation has been officially launched. Our kickoff event and workshop was held in Hayden Library C5 following the Leadership Institute for Sustainability in Tempe, Arizona. We currently host 12 projects on the database, including some led by non-sustainability majors. Our users represent 6 countries thus far, and we had a 625% spike of user activity following the event.

Thank you to everyone who has been supporting us or attended our event. As always, please do not hesitate to reach out for questions, comments, or concerns. We are excited to be moving forward!
